  • Saw Monarch Butterfly flying north across upper pasture.
  • Blanco River flooded the low water crossing at noon, it was passable the next morning.
  • Saw 2 small Nine lined racing Lizards
  • Saw Rose Finch
  • Saw Porcupine at Milo ans Sunflower seed feeding area
  • Heard Golden-cheeked Warbler
  • Saw Turkey
  • Planted one ounce Maximillian Sunflower seeds at septic spray area and at hay barn pond
  • Saw Possum

April 27 2015

  • Completed transfer of fish and some tadpoles from holding tank to pond.
  • Windstorm broke several Red Oaks and fallen dead trees
  • 1/4 inch of rain
  • Saw Rock Squirrel take old paper towel, presumably to its nest.
  • Heard Golden-cheeked Warbler
  • Saw painted bunting at seed ball for millet
  • Saw Spiny Lizard

January 27 2015

  • Saw 3 Possums and a Ringtail Cat at the seed bowl feeders on the porch at night.
  • Marked China Berry trees to remove at river bottom land
  • Consulted about muddy pond
  • Saw Osprey
  • Removed 8 large China Berry Trees and treated with stump remover
  • Rescued Golden-cheeked Warbler from seed feeder.

Canyon Wren at the meal worm bowl. The bowl was covered with a thin layer of dog food crumbs to keep the bees away. It is the only thing found that will discourage the bees, but not the birds. Little songbirds to not mess with bees. This photo was taken from inside the house through a bird-screened window.
