  • Mouse caught in live trap at house, set free at Rain Barn down the road. This was the sixth mouse removed so far.

  • Refreshed all Hummingbird feeders
  • Saw Painted Bunting
  • Caught mouse in live trap at house, released down the road near the Rain Barn

July 18 2010

  • Refreshed all Hummingbird feeders
  • Ringtail Cat active in attic and in walls at 4:30 am
  • Saw mouse in kitchen.

Caretaker note: Ringtail Cats are very good at catching mice. We presume they moved into the house because of the mice food source easily available for them.

  • Refreshed all Hummingbird feeders
  • Lots of Deer
  • Checked on Ringtail activity in basement, no evidence that the rope provided had been used.

July 10 2010

  • Ringtail Cat removal program: Closed all air vents that have been chewed through the foam insulation along the basement wall
  • Lots of noise in attic at night from Ringtail Cats scratching and climbing in walls
  • Vacuumed Ringtail Cat latrine in attic.
  • Set live trap at 7:30 pm, at 8pm the trap was sprung, the cherry bait was gone, but no animal in live trap. The Ringtail Cat had reached though the side of the trap cage to get the bait.
  • Left one opening in air vent in basement to allow a place for the animal to get out of the house, added a thick rope to allow a way for the animal to get out.
