  • removed dead brush under Junipers around house
  • not a lot of Hummingbirds, 15 seem to favor the feeders on the back porch

  • Only .3 Inches of rain
  • Saw a fox at the feeding area
  • saw a male Painted Bunting
  • 3 dead mice found in cistern overflow (caretakers sealed all openings for mice on roof gutters)
  • Monarch caterpillars on Antelope Horn
  • Two Toads seen at dusk
  • cut and mulched Junipers directly under Cedar Elms (along driveway)

May 13 2010

  • refreshed all Hummingbird feeders and filled ant guard cups with water
  • Saw Golden-cheeked Warbler at watering pans behind Rain barn
  • Saw Monarch butterfly caterpillars on Antelope Horn

Caretakers note: Netting was secured around the Antelope Horn plant to protect the Monarch Butterfly chrysalis from wasps and to observe
