  • Caretakers met a neighbor who is leasing  land to the South/ East for Deer hunting. We discussed safety with our hunters in the vacinity and agreed to have our hunters wear the orange for safety. He said he also hunts Wild Turkey. We noted that we do not allow Turkey hunting on our land and they are like our pets. Just then, a group of Turkeys crossed the road at the "Slow Wildlife" sign. A hen ran along the netwire fence showing us that she needs an opening to cross through more easily. Caretakers responded by cutting out sections of net wire fence where there are existing animal trails. Three new openings were created in the fence. The Turkey hen was successful in letting caretakers understand her needs.
