  • Saw many migrant hummingbirds
  • Saw Rufous Hummingbird (new addition to census list)
    rufous hummingbird
  • Added 4 hummingbird feeders for migrating hummingbirds. A mixture of 4 units of water to one unit of sugar.
  • Removed rag weed that had overgrown hummingbird habitat at river, exposed four-o'clocks, turk's cap and frostweed

Continued maintenance along river trail, removed some rag weed over hanging trail.

  • Installed purple martin house, 12 units, gourd style, played martin songs, saw some martins looking . Worried about butterfly garden too close to Martin house. Will observe in Feb. 06 when Martins return
  • Installed new bird feeder near house
  • Maintained river trail with weed eater to clear trail

    • 100 square feet seedball mix, sage rage seed balls around house and septic field
    • Big blue sage
    • Engleman's sage
    • Mealy blue sage
    • Scarlet sage
